R0ISS - IMWG Revised International Staging System Multiple Myeloma

REVISED - INTERNATIONAL STAGING SYSTEM is based on blood work results and cytogenetic analysis from bone marrow. Oncologist formulate treatment plan based on stage of Myeloma along with other factors.


REVISED - INTERNATIONAL STAGING SYSTEM (R-ISS)


R-ISS STAGE 1:

  • Serum beta-2 microglobulin <3.5 mg/L,

  • Serum albumin ≥3.5 g/d

  • Normal LDH

  • standard-risk chromosomal abnormalities by FISH ( No del(17p), t(4;14), or t(14;16) by FISH)

 

R-ISS STAGE 3:

  • Serum beta-2 microglobulin ≥5.5 mg and Elevated LDH

  • and / or high-risk chromosomal abnormalities by FISH ( del(17p), t(4;14), or t(14;16) by FISH)

 

R-ISS STAGE 2:

  • Not R-ISS stage 1 or 3
